Pregnancy unlikely: Home pregnancy tests are very accurate and not affected by foods, herbs, common illnesses, sexually transmitted diseases, or medications. A home urine pregnancy test gives a reliable result by 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have happened) or 1 week after missing a period. Can call one's Ob-Gyn doctor if symptoms persist or recur.

Hormonal imbalance: Menstrual irregularities are not uncommon and anovulatory cycle is a common cause. If you miss more than two periods it would be time to see your doctor. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time. You may consider implanted contraceptive or an IUD.
