Restaurant: If this is a practice at a restaurant, it should be reported to the public health department. Herpes virus can survive hours on objects as can some contagious bacteria but it's not easy to transmit herpes without close skin to skin contact such as kissing, touching and sexual activities. I guess we all take chances eating in restaurants.
