So i had my 2 week follow up with my doctor because i had a medical abortion. she advised that my ovulation will occur in the next 2 weeks an then after the next 2 weeks i will have my period. so can you get pregnant if you had sex a week ago?

Maybe not, but...: Sperm usually don't survive for over a week. For fertile women who are having sex... it can be hard to tell if a woman is pregnant because some of the symptoms seen in early pregnancy can also happen in non-pregnant women. A home urine pregnancy test gives a accurate result by 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have occurred), or 1 week after missing a period.
