Three weeks ago,i missed a birth control pill.my gyn nurse said i was still protected.my boyfriend and i used a condom the following week,then we went back to pulling out.now though,i am experiencing spotting and possibly nausea. could i be pregnant?

Basics: The pill works primarily by keeping a hormone level up preventing egg release. No egg=no pregnancy. Missing a single pill usually won't matter while several in a row would. If your symptoms concern you do a home pregnancy test. It would usually be positive if your symptoms are pregnancy related. It might be falsely negative if too early, but would eventually be positive.
