How common is donovanosis in the us and could i have missed this for 7 months? just developed an ulcer on my vulva being treated for vulvadynia (sp)

Herpes?: There has been almost no reported donovanosis in the US for 20+ years, maybe a few cases acquired elsewhere. Same for chancroid. By far the most common cause of genital ulcer is herpes, even in people with no known herpes previously (and could show up 7 mo after exposed). Syphilis is possible but also rare.
