HSV 2: If you are sexually active there lies the possibility that you could have contracted HSV 2 (Genital Herpes). As the natural course of an outbreak is to resolve spontaneously, you may get the false sense that creams are helping. See your GYN and either get a lesion tested directly or have a blood test looking for the antibodies formed when you've been exposed to the HSV2 virus.
