EC is for Emergency.: In an individual woman, there is no way to tell if the emergency contraception worked, until time passes and she does a home urine pregnancy test (3 weeks after sex), or has her next truly normal regular period. Home pregnancy tests are very accurate, and are sold in stores everywhere. (Emergency contraception pills are for emergencies, which should happen no more than 2 or 3 times in a lifetime.)
