A doctor has provided 1 answer

Resistant bacteria?: The antibiotic-resistant bacteria called MRSA is often checked for when a person has boils. A doctor can swab the pus and send it to the lab. Certain antibiotics are used for MRSA boils, and other things have to be done to try to get that bacteria out of the household. Boils can still be due to regular, nonresistant bacteria... so hope it is nonresistant. Doctor can re-evaluate and adjust therapy.
