A member asked:

Do bc pills work in the first month you take them? i was on diane35 for 4 months, switched to yasmin after 7 day break this month, is it effective?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Bcp switch: As long as no more than seven days passed since the last pill of "diane35", the Yasmin is effective. If one starts a new package on day 5 of the low dose bcp "placebo" pills, instead of day 7, it prevents early ovulation in the next cycle which is rare, but can occur.
