What can be done to diagnose an anal yeast infection?

Itching around : Moist anus with cheesy like material on skin. Often the skin is broken and weepy. If only this area is affected and scrapings by doctor confirm yeast, i usually treat with a anti fungal powder like Nystatin rather than an ointment . Pts respond more rapidly to the powder and the area is already wet and a petroleum based ointment makes the moistness worse.
