Take as directed!!!: Always take your medications as directed. If you want to take your drugs in a different way, ask your prescribing doctor or dispensing pharmacist as s/he has responsibility for your care (along w/you). Yes, some antibiotics for chlamydia are taken multiple times throughout a day over several days but Azithromycin is intended as a one time dose for chlamydia.

Follow orders: Your doctor may have had a reason for you to take 1 gram of medicine at one time follow your doctors ordersor call him and discuss it with him.

No: The dose of zithromax (azithromycin) for chlamydia is 1 (one) gram all at once . Lower doses (even if they eventually total 1 gram) r insufficient to destroy the chlamydia organism & surviving bacteria may develop resistance to the drug.
