Usually not, but...: ...the initial infection with HSV might cause eleveated WBC count, if severe with multiple sores, painful tender lymph nodes, fever, muscle aching, etc. But usually not even with initial infection, and definitely not with recurrent herpes oubreaks, either oral or genital.
