Can pregnancy cause first herpes outbreak?

No.: Pregnancy cannot, per se, cause herpes; but if the man who impregnated you has genital herpes, he could have infected you at the same time he got you pregnant. The first step is to get tested, and make sure you actually have herpes before trying to figure out what (or who) caused it.

Pregnancy is a state in which your immune system is compromised. Being a viral illness, there are women who have a first outbreak during pregnancy, though they didn't come in first contact with herpes while pregnant. Same with shingles. Some women get shingles in pregnancy but wouldn't have an outbreak if they weren't pregnant.

Herpes pregnancy: Pts with a history of genital herpes should undergo a careful perineal examination at the time of delivery.Vaginal delivery is indicated if no signs or symptoms of hsv are present.Active genital hsv in patients in labor or with ruptured membranes is an indication for c/s.Reactivation occurs in 50% of patients within 6 months of the initial outbreak.Whether pregnancy alters the rate is disputed.
