Need more info: I am a strong proponent of the adage "if anything can happen, it will". Tubal ligation means that the sperm will be blocked from traveling through the Fallopian tubes. The copper IUD while it is an efficacious product is not always 100% effective in preventing a pregnancy. The tubal ligation many times is permanent while the IUD can be easily removed if & when you want to become pregnant.
