See below : Most common cause of red bumps in the pubic area in a female would be inflammation of the pubic hair follicles ("folliculitis") related to shaving or other irritation and often occurring in multiple areas (aka "razor burn") Genital herpes in this area another possible, though less common, cause and more likely to occur in a localized cluster. Molluscum contagiosum (STD) causes whitish bumps.
