No: The IUD is not pushed deeper in to the uterus with fingering. However, if you are not able to feel the strings then you should be checked. It is possible the IUD is still in place and the strings have just been retracted in to the cervical canal, or the IUD may have be expelled,. Rarely, the IUD may be misplaced, displaced, migrated, perforated, all these latter situations are rather uncommon.
