Not right away: Many drs tell women to start the pill on the first day of their period. The period may then be slightly shorter. Not to worry. Just take every day at the same time every day and keep track of any bleeding or spotting. Slightly irregular spotting/bleeding is common in the first 1-3 mod, but typically gets to be very regular and predictable after a few months.
