A gynae did a vaginal exam on me without any gloves on and without washing his hands before.im worried i may have got an infection like herpes. ?

Unlikely !: His hands would have had to carry infected body fluids. Your story , however, is quite disturbing and should be reported to your local Health Department! Hope this is helpful Dr z

Hopefully Not!: Herpes rarely spreads with doctor's hands. The doctor may not have washed hands immediatly before examining you but ,I am sure he would have washed hands after doing the examination on other, potentially infected pateints. The odds are very remote that you will catch herpes from this particualr examination. Unless you develop local symptoms in the next 6 months you should not worry about this epi
