No cause for concern: Birth control pills (BCPs) have higher progesterone effect than estrogen. Not only do they prevent you from ovulating but they also prevent your uterine lining from building. Many women will experience irregular bleeding (#1 reason for discontinuing BCPs) for the first 2-3 month. It takes time for your body to adjust to the hormones. The low estrogen pills (20mcg) definitely have irregular bleed
