Can do a preg. test: Plan B can alter the menstrual bleeding for the cycle in which Plan B was taken, and sometimes the next cycle too. One should be sure to check a home pregnancy test about 3 weeks after sex, because Plan B works most of the time, but not all the time.

Provided original answer
If taking a MINI-PILL (not a combination), one should take her pill at the same time each day, and not stray. With either type of birth control pill, if a woman is on her inactive (placebo) pills, there is no problem missing those inactive pills as long as she counts her inactive days properly and starts her next pack at the correct time. That is because there is no hormone in the inactive pills.
