A member asked:

On bc had protected sex today, 3 days before my scheduled period. if my period comes on wed am i not pregnant? or do i have to wait till next month?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not likely to be: Contraceptive pills taken regularly reduce very markedly your risks of pregnancy (are 92 to 96% effective) but do not eliminate the risk entirely. If male condoms were also used and you were 3 days before your scheduled period, you are not all likely to be pregnant. If you want to reduce your risks even further, ask a caring and knowledgeable Gyn for an intrauterine device or a subdermal implant.
