Safe: Pregnancy is certainly a risk if you are having sex without condoms or birth control. It is not clear from your question what type of pessary you are referring to. It is unusual for a 19 year old to require a pessary. It is not dangerous to use a pessary after intercourse. Unprotected intercourse carries the risk of STD transmission and pregnancy as it would in a nonpessary user.
