Yes: Syphilis and gonorrhea are dangerous if left untreated with bad complications, and other STDs too, but we don't here much about those complications now given the widespread availability of medications and easy treatment once diagnosed, the problem is undiagnosed cases, partial treatment or treating only one partner not the other partner(s)
