Diarrhea at least once a week for the past 2 months. what culd be the cause? ( using the depo provera (medroxyprogesterone) shot for birth control)

May be normal: Sometimes patients think loose stools are diarrhea. If the remainder of your stools are normal and you only have one bout of loose stools a wk with no other symptoms, it is probably nothing. Pay attention to your intake of foods/meds etc. May be dietary issue. If stools are watery or fatty (float on water) see dr as may have a digestion problem.

IBS: Depo provera (medroxyprogesterone) is unlikely to be linked with your diarrhea. Conditions such as IBS or other GI causes may be at play. If symptoms persist, a GI doctor can help identify possible causes.
