Not normal: The only situation in which this would be normal or expected is if you are an avid runner/athlete who does not have a well-fitting sports bra. Otherwise a nipple discharge without a history of pregnancy, delivery or breast-feeding in the recent past is always abnormal and warrants an exam. A 1-sided discharge is more urgently concerning than a symmetric one.
