Itchy buttock rash: Herpes characteristically will appear in the 'same spot' as previous outbreaks- so I wonder if you have any history of that? Herpes usually hurts, but it can also itch - since it's an infection that 'messes with' nerves. A picture is worth a thousand words -definitely- so that would help. Hope you feel better.

Dermatologist: I would recommend an in person visit with a dermatologist because in your part of the world, hookworm (cutaneous larval migrans) and other important causes of your condition might be missed without a full examination. Have you been to the beach? Always sit on a towel at the beach. Herpes lesions are usually painful. HS usually in groin or armpit. See your MD please. Good luck.
