Yes: Getting regular Paps is the key. Not all women who have had exposure to HPV will have abnormal Paps, but if you have an abnormal Pap, it is most likely caused related to HPV. Also, being in a long term marriage puts you at lower risk. Best wishes.

I would ask your: gynecologist, who knows your whole history. My opinion would be that you should be tested (even though you've had normal PAPs and have been married 15 years.) The recommendations for yearly PAP smears has changed recently, so if it's going to be a while before your next one, you may want to have it done sooner so that the HPV test can also be done.

Can wait: Yes you can safely a year for your next PAP. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex.
