A member asked:

I'm scared i'm pregnant. took emergency contraception and two weeks later got my period with pregnancy symptoms including dizziness, headach, chills?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No sex = No scares: Plan B or other emergency contraception pills can alter the menstrual bleeding for the cycle in which the pills were taken, and sometimes the next cycle too. One should be sure to check a home pregnancy test about 3 weeks after sex, to confirm non-pregnancy. A person should avoid having sex, or be sure to use a truly reliable "Plan A" contraceptive method, if very worried about getting pregnant.
