Yes, but...: It would prevent chlamydia. However, anyone with chlamydia also could have other STDs like gonorrhea, syphilis, and others -- and azithromycin is not reliable against anything except chlamydia. So if you decide to go ahead with azithromycin, in a week or so you still should see a doctor or clinic for STD evaluation.
