A member asked:

I had sex with a 14 yr old and she told me that she had cramps after the day of sex, i bought nordette (ethinyl estradiol and levonorgestrel) as a subs. for plan b, is this good for her?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Giving Nordette (ethinyl estradiol and levonorgestrel) after sex is not a substitute for Plan B. U can still use plan B within 72 hours of sexual activity. Plan B Emergency contraception * 0.75 mg PO within 72 hrs of intercourse, then repeat 0.75 mg PO after 12 hrs of 1st dose * Alternate: 1.5 mg PO within 72 hrs of intercourse * Note: Consider repeating the dose if vomiting occurs within two hours of taking the tablet.
