A member asked:

Does doxycycline really affect the effectiveness of loestrin? a cursory google search found about 20 reputable sources saying it does not.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

There is no: veritable scientific evidence or poll that says doxycycline decreases the efficacy of Loestrin in vivo. Having said that, there are certain antibiotics that do interfere with hormonal action on the ovarian cycle, and it is best to ask if you don't know when the practitioner prescribes it to you (or the woman in question).
