A member asked:

I've been on birth control (implanon) for 4 yrs, having changed the rod last year. i've had no menstrual bleeding for the past 2 yrs, until today. why?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Breakthrough bleed: It could be some residual endometrial tissue, but it could also be cervical infection, trauma from sex and a polyp of either the cervix or endometrium. Less likely would be pregnancy. Your method has about a 2-3%failure rate, so check a pregnancy test.
