A member asked:

I was given a 1 gram dose of azithromicin, and 10 days of cefdinir 300mg twice per day to treat a possible exposure to gonorrhea. is this suitable? seemed iffy to me. still awaiting lab results.

Treatment for GC: The CDC ( Centers for Disease Control) recommended treatment for outpatient treatment of gonorrhea (GC) is ceftriaxome 250 mg injection plus azithromycin 1 gram orally. If ceftriaxone is not available, cefixime 400 mg orally in a single dose is the recommended alternative.
