Pregnant or not?: Exam is needed. If a woman has sharp pains in the lower pelvis and is pregnant, she should immediately call her OB provider or labor and delivery for examination. If she might be pregnant, her gyn provider should evaluate. If there is no way she could be pregnant, she could call either primary care doctor or obgyn doctor, who might refer her if the problem is from the colon, bladder, or other site.
