Sharp stabbing feeling in my lower abdominal and vagina. got my period today.. could this just be cramps or tampon in wrong?

Tampon Issue: Tampons placed too deep or in the wrong place will cause stabbing pain. Please remove and reinsert a new tampon and see what happens. You can also use a pad to see if the stabbing pain goes away. Put a heating pad also and see if you feel any relief.
