Not really: The symptoms of genital herpes only occur with an outbreak which should only last 5-7 days and are usually associated with small blisters that ulcerated and crust over.

Not herpes: Herpes blisters, sores, etc may itch or tingle, and a neurological "prodrome" of tingling etc may occur for a day or two in the area before an oubreak starts. But herpes doesn't cause such symptoms without a visible outbreak, nor ongoing or prolonged symptoms like these. Your "mental" comment may be a clue: when someone suspects his or her own symptoms are psychological, often that is correct.

Yes, but.......: An outbreak of herpes can be preceded by symptoms like these. Usually these symptoms are followed by typical herpes ulcers. You should use a condom with sexual intercourse for now. If you get ulcers you should seek medical care. If not, you can later get a blood test to see if you have indeed carry this STD virus in your system.
