STD prevention: Sex with only one partner, who has no other partners, of course is the main thing. Otherwise, choose partners wisely and use condoms. Get vaccinated against hepatitis B and human papillomavirus (HPV). Follow standard advice about pap smears. If you have non-mongamous sex, get tested for gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, and HIV from time to time, maybe once a year.
