Usually not: It is best to have them removed. You might spread them to others if they are not.

There is no cure yet: Molluscum contagiosum is a dna poxvirus..Type 1-4 (mcv1-4) and they spread easily among humans only. It can be spread sexually in adult. They often go away on their own 3 wks to 3 months range, but because the are easily transmitted, an outbreak can last up to 18 months. Various topicals are use, but none is considered cure. Wart cream, acne cream(benzoyl peroxide) may help. Consult doc. Good luck.
