Got period 4 days ago, lasted 2 days w/no cramps which is typical for me. had sex yest., woke up last night with intense cramping. what's going on?

Menstrual cramping: most likely related to hormonal causes or surges. I would advise Advil or Aleve (naproxen) for cramping. If you had unprotected intercourse or pain is disabling, I suggest a GYN exam and pregnancy test.

Need urgent exam: There may be a number of reasons that can cause you to have pelvic pain several days after your period has stopped and soon after intercourse. **One possibility includes Pelvic Inflammatory Disease.(bacterial infection in the uterus and tubes). Most cases of PID occur within 7 days of menses. STD due to gonorrhea or Chlamydia is the usual, but not only, cause. *You must be examined TODAY for Rx
