First time on birth control using tri sprintec. on first pack 3rd week haven't stopped bleeding since jan 23rd. should i be worried? is this normal?

Normal: just keep taking all pills and progress to your next pack and I would suggest a 3 month-4 month trial until your cycle regulates; however, if bleeding is severe call your gYN for a pelvic exam.

Speak with your Dr: It's not unusual for patients to have abnormal bleeding for the first 3 or so months after starting BCP's. However you should contact your physician who may decided to give you an estrogen supplement to take for a week to stop the bleeding. It's also important to consult with your physician to be sure no other cause for prolonged bleeding is present.
