No period on depo: Women usually have periods every few months on Depo-Provera provera (medroxyprogesterone). However, that drug will absolutely stop the periods in some women as long as they take it. It is doing a great job of preventing pregnancy. If you stop the injections, you will eventually have a period. However, you must use another form of birth control unless you want to get pregnant.
