What is the most effective birth control method for a 47-year-old woman?

Hysterectomy: At 47, if you are through with childbearing, removal is the most effective form of birth control. A tubal ligation would be 2nd, and the pill third. All of these are dependent on your other health issues and may or may not meet with your needs.A frank discussion with your OBGYN may give you a better understanding of what might be best for you.
