A member asked:

I am having rumbling, gas, some nausea, diarrhea, and sometimes a thick brown mucus instead of normal bm. also a protrusion from anal opening. help! ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

GI distress: Those symptoms can occur in a variety of gastrointestinal complaints, & a diagnosis would involve a detailed history & a physical. General information that may or may not apply in your case: Protrusions from the anus frequently are hemorrhoids, but can be rectal prolapse (rectal tissue). Short-term nausea/diarrhea can be viral gastroenteritis, but many, many other causes exist.
