No: The confusion is people hear about an std that sounds similar--chlamydia trachomatis-- being treated w/ azithromycin. This infection is not the same as trichomonas vaginalis. Trichomoniasis cannot be cured w/ Azithromycin & must be rx'd w/ Metronidazole or tinidazole 'trich' can lead to premature delivery, low birth weight, stillbirth, neonatal death, HIV transmission, pid, prostatitis, other risks.

No: Trichomoniasis can be treated w one or multiple oral doses of metronidazole or tinidazole. These are antibiotics which your doctor can order. Metronidazole is 90 to 95% effective and tinidazole is 86 to 100% effective.
