Difficult situation: What type of "proof" would you or your doctor be seeking, and why? It's painful when anyone demands this kind of proof of childhood events. Trying to provide this may be far less important than you taking good care of yourself now -- and if you're having relationship or any other difficulties, getting help for this. How the family & others respond can tilt your scale towards health, or not.

Complicated!!: I'm so sorry for your suffering. The human body is amazing at healing itself and it is usually not possible to tell from a physical exam if abuse occurred. 95% of sexually abused persons have a normal physical exam. Your best plan is therapy with a provider experienced with child sexual abuse. You can contact your nearest child advocacy center for a therapy referral. Good luck!
