Not permanent: Nancy, you should not have permanent damage from a biopsy of the labia minora. You may still have some irritation from the dissolving sutures, an irritated nerve, or possibly a localized infection. You should expect to be "back to normal" by 6-8 weeks. Check back with your doctor to see what the problem might be. This is fixable.

Not forever: The vulva is obviously a sensitive part of the body and prone to friction from clothing which makes it worse. Dissolvable stitches can take a while to absorb and leave an uncomfortable bump for a bit. Consider increasing your use of a high quality water based lubricant like astroglide or KY during sex to relieve the discomfort and check with the biopsying doctor to make sure all is ok.
