SUdden lump: The sudden appearance of a lump in that area would be suspicious for a hernia especially at your age and based on your limited history. Does the lump reduce? Is it tender? The risk of a hernia is if it is enlarging and becoming very symptomatic. I would see a doctor as soon as possible to have this checked.
