A member asked:

How long do you have to wait for unprotected sex after taking birth control?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

30 days: I generally recommend using a backup method of birth control for the first month when starting a new contraception. It is important to remember that pills, the ring, implanon, depoprovera, iuds, do not protect against stds. Therefore, using condoms all the time is best.
