A member asked:

Does mri check for std?

No it does not: To check for stds, typically a culture is done. This could be from urine, a swab of the genitals or a blood culture. An MRI is typically for bone, muscle, nerves or organs.

No: Mri is test that demonstrates anatomy, not function or infection. Some consequences of an std may be visible as anatomical changes, but not diagnosable as such.
