HPV affects both: Human papilloma virus or hpv is a family of viruses. Type 1 is common wart, 2 plantars wart, and 6 & 11 genital warts. Some other types and specifically 16 & 18 are related to cervical, penile, anal and oral cancers. If a person has genital warts it is more likely to cause anal than oral problems. If it is hpv 16 or 18 both ends are at risk. (condoms will help prevent this problem.).

Protect yourself.: If your partner is infected with the human papilloma virus(hpv), you could easily be infected. An hpv infection will produce a papilloma, a wart. In the oral cavity, sometimes an hpv infection can become cancerous, usually seen at the base of the tongue, soft palate, tonsils or back of the throat. So protect yourself.
